Rooms To Let
Mareike Poehling and Andrea v. Lüdinghausen run the project ROOMS TO LET. Themes as sculptural processes, working conditions, loss of place and the transition of space and territories belong to their questionary. Poehling and Lüdinghausen explore different hotel rooms which function as studio and exhibition space, adapting their production method to the production location. The artists weave their own stories into the heterotopic spaces by means of found objects, sculptural elements, drawings, photographs and video.
Beyond that ROOMS TO LET always implies an exchange with artists of the country. Which concepts and formal characteristics do they develop in the respective cities?
ROOMS TO LET works like a book, the different places of residence are its chapters.
The next chapter is arising out of the last chapter.
